Custom software built around the way your business works
Sometimes an off-the-shelf system nearly works, but the gaps create more admin, workarounds and spreadsheets. I build practical software for small businesses when the right tool does not already exist.
When custom software makes sense
Custom does not automatically mean huge, complicated or expensive. It can be a focused booking system, a customer portal, an internal dashboard or a connected workflow that removes a very specific problem.
It is worth exploring when your team is entering the same information more than once, important work relies on one person's memory, several systems refuse to talk to each other, or your process is too specialised for a standard product.
What I can build
- Booking and scheduling systems
- Customer, member and staff portals
- Internal dashboards and workflow tools
- Membership and event platforms
- CRM extensions and custom processes
- Connections between systems that do not integrate naturally
How I approach it
Understand: We map what happens now, including the awkward bits.
Prioritise: We separate the essentials from the ideas that can wait.
Build and test: Real users test the system against real work.
Improve: We refine it as the business learns what it truly needs.
Real examples
Fit20
A tailored booking system created for a more complex appointment model than a standard online diary could comfortably handle.
R Andrews & Son
A custom business system for commercial gas specialists, designed around their operational processes instead of forcing the team into generic software.
Hayley Hub
My own SaaS platform for membership and event-led organisations, combining CRM, memberships, events, finance and communication in one place.
The aim is not more technology. It is less friction.
I will not recommend a custom build if an existing tool can do the job well. But when your business genuinely needs something different, we can create software that feels natural to use and is designed to grow with you.
